Operations Conducted Against New Generation Criminal Organizations in 48 Provinces
Detention warrants have been issued for one thousand and eight suspects in simultaneous raids carried out across forty-eight provinces in partnership with the Ministry of Interior, MIT, and the Police.
A large-scale operation has been launched in 48 provinces targeting new generation criminal organizations in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, the National Intelligence Organization (MIT), and the General Directorate of Security. While detention warrants were issued for 1,008 suspects in simultaneous raids, it was determined that the suspects recruited hitmen via social media and engaged in crime propaganda.
Details of the Joint Operation
In line with the instructions of Minister of Interior Mustafa Çiftçi, comprehensive work was carried out under the coordination of the General Directorate of Security KOM Department and Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices.
Simultaneous raids were organized at addresses identified as a result of the joint efforts of the National Intelligence Organization Presidency, the EGM Intelligence Department, and the Department of Cyber Crimes.
Recruitment of Hitmen via Social Media
Within the scope of the ongoing investigation, it was determined that the suspects shared posts aimed at recruiting hitmen and performing contract killings through special groups created on various communication platforms.
Additionally, it was detected that the suspects carried out organization propaganda by making posts via social media accounts that praised crime and criminals, and contained threats and insults.
Organizational Activities and Objectives
It was uncovered that the suspects aimed to announce their organizational activities through social media posts and tried to move hostilities and competition between criminal organizations to digital platforms.
It was determined that the suspects, who tried to create the perception that criminal activities are normal, also targeted actively using social media to recruit new members for criminal organizations.

Minister of Interior Mustafa Çiftçi made a statement on his official social media account following the major operation.
In his post, Minister Çiftçi emphasized that they will not allow social media to be used as a showcase for crime and delivered a message of determination.
