Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş Makes Statements on Early Elections and the New Legislative Year

In his speech at the 28th Term 4th Legislative Year Evaluation Meeting, Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş gave a clear response to early election claims, stating that elections will be held on time, and made evaluations regarding legislative activities and the terror-free Turkey process.
Clear Response to Early Election Debates
TBMM Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş emphasized that discussions on early elections currently have no place or timing.
Displaying a clear stance during the evaluation meeting, Kurtulmuş announced to the public that the elections will be held on time.
Parliament's Intense Legislative Activities
It was stated that the TBMM left behind a very intensive working period in its fourth legislative year.
It was reported that a total of 571 bill proposals were submitted to parliament during this process, and 36 of them were accepted and enacted into law.
Terror-Free Turkey Process and Consensus
It was stated that the bill on social integration, adopted on August 10, 2026, was approved with the highest consensus in the history of the TBMM.
It was noted that the process of the terrorist organization laying down arms and dissolving itself is proceeding as planned, and that there is no foreign third eye present in this process.
Need for a New Constitution and Fund Crisis
While reiterating the ongoing need for a new constitution, it was importantly stated that the constitutional process must not be confused with the Terror-Free Turkey process.
Regarding the ongoing fund crisis, it was explicitly emphasized that those responsible must account for their actions before justice.
