While infertility, the condition where pregnancy does not occur despite regular intercourse, is common worldwide, experts note that certain bad habits make the process more difficult.

Infertility and Women's Health

Defined as the failure to achieve pregnancy despite regular and unprotected sexual intercourse, infertility affects approximately 1 in every 6 people of reproductive age worldwide. It is stated that about 30 percent of cases stem from female-related factors.

Delaying the Pregnancy Plan

Even though the age of motherhood advances due to education, career, and social life, the egg count decreases over time and the risk of chromosomal abnormalities increases. Especially after the age of 35, reproductive capacity drops significantly.

Smoking and Nicotine Products

Toxic substances in cigarette smoke damage ovarian tissue, accelerating egg loss. This prolongs the time it takes to achieve pregnancy and increases the risk of infertility; furthermore, electronic cigarettes are not a safe alternative.

Neglecting Weight Control

Obesity and excess weight lead to insulin resistance, hormonal imbalances, and ovulation problems. On the other hand, very low body weight and excessive exercise can also cause menstrual irregularities.

Alcohol and Unhealthy Lifestyle

Frequent and high-amount alcohol consumption negatively affects hormonal balance and ovulation patterns. A sedentary lifestyle and unhealthy diet also harm the reproductive system through metabolic disorders.

The Importance of Regular Check-ups

Ovulation disorders, endometriosis, and certain uterine-related diseases do not always cause prominent complaints. Timely evaluation of conditions such as irregular menstruation is of great importance.
