Farewell Ceremony Held for Prof. Dr. İoanna Kuçuradi at Maltepe University
Many figures from the worlds of politics and academia attended the memorial event held following the passing of Turkey's renowned philosopher and human rights defender Prof. Dr. İoanna Kuçuradi.
A farewell ceremony was held at Maltepe University for philosopher, academic, and human rights defender Prof. Dr. İoanna Kuçuradi. Attended by many figures from the worlds of politics, philosophy, and academia, the ceremony remembered Kuçuradi through memories before she was bidden farewell to the Şişli Greek Orthodox Cemetery.
High Attendance at the Ceremony
The ceremony, held at the Maltepe University Mimar Vedat Çakırca Conference Hall, was attended by numerous invited guests from political and academic circles.
Kuçuradi's family, students, and loved ones were also present at the event to fulfill their final duty.
Evaluations from Academics
Rector Prof. Dr. Yusuf Aksar described Kuçuradi as the "teacher of teachers" and emphasized that she carried philosophy into everyday life.
Prof. Dr. Betül Çotuksöken stated that Kuçuradi continued working on human rights lectures even in her final days.

Maltepe Mayor Esin Köymen announced that they are preparing the İoanna Kuçuradi Life Center in cooperation with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.
IMM Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan drew attention to Kuçuradi's ideas defending human rights and dignity.
Memories and Farewell
Prof. Dr. Gülriz Uygur shared with the participants that her mentor had given her the task of establishing the İoanna Kuçuradi Museum.
Following the program at the university, the funeral was seen off with applause to be buried at the Şişli Greek Orthodox Cemetery.
