112 Emergency Health Station Demolished in Elazığ's Sivrice, Leaving Villages Without Service

The 112 Emergency Health Services Station, which opened in 2017 in Elazığ's Sivrice district, has been demolished. With this development, surrounding villages and emergency cases along the route have been deprived of health services.

History and Purpose of the Station

A 112 Emergency Health Services Station had been put into service in 2017 in the Gözeli village of Elazığ's Sivrice district to provide faster response to 22 villages and emergency cases along the Elazığ-Malatya highway route. This building, which was previously used as a health center, was converted into an emergency health unit after necessary arrangements were made.

Public Resources and Assignments

It was stated that 110 thousand TL of public funds were spent for the maintenance and repair of the building during the opening process. Furthermore, it was expressed that 12 personnel and an ambulance were assigned to the station, aiming to strengthen the health infrastructure in the region in this manner.

Questions Directed at the Demolition Decision

Raif Aslan, a member of the MHP Elazığ Provincial General Council, asked on what grounds the building was demolished, which institution made the decision, and upon which technical report it was based. Claims that there was no report stating the building was heavily damaged increased the question marks surrounding the demolition process.

Disruption of Health Services

Following the demolition, it was reported that 22 villages in the region were deprived of health services. While concerns were raised that responses to traffic accidents and other emergencies that may occur in the area could be delayed, questions were raised as to why a new station has not been built.
