8 Arrested in Istanbul Courthouses Bribery and Judicial Interference Investigation
In a bribery and judicial interference investigation conducted by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 8 people were arrested and 5 judges and prosecutors were suspended from duty.
In the investigation regarding bribery, acting as a mediator for bribery, and forming a criminal organization conducted by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 8 suspects were arrested and 5 judges and public prosecutors were suspended from duty.
Scope of the Investigation
In the investigation conducted by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was determined that certain lawsuits and investigations heard in various courthouses in Istanbul between 2022 and 2024 were interfered with in an organized manner.
Judicial Personnel and Measures
The evidence obtained within the scope of the investigation was reported to the Council of Judges and Prosecutors, and as a result of the evaluations made, 5 judges and public prosecutors were suspended from duty.
It was learned that an investigation was also launched against a retired public prosecutor and a judge who resigned from office.
Arrests and Detention Warrants
As a result of the procedures carried out to date, 8 suspects were arrested, and arrest warrants aimed at detention were issued for 2 suspects stated to be fugitives abroad.
Former Istanbul 4th Enforcement Civil Court Judge B.K. was arrested on October 3, 2026, on charges of bribery.
Parliamentary File and Severance
Allegations that a lawsuit heard in the Istanbul 4th Enforcement Civil Court, to which IYI Party Kocaeli Deputy Lütfü Türkkan is a party, was unlawfully directed are being examined.
The file regarding the deputy was severed and sent to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office for the procedures to be carried out.
Money Traffic and Investigations
Allegations that millions of liras in bribes were given to B.K. and that a portion of this benefit was sent to a bank account as a deposit are being investigated.
The prosecutor's office continues its comprehensive examinations on money movements and other evidence in a multifaceted manner.
