Call for Cooperation in Health Between Türkiye and the US
Minister of Health Kemal Memişoğlu gave a message of partnership at the Global Business Summit in New Jersey, stating that the different strengths of the two countries could complement each other.
Minister of Health Kemal Memişoğlu, who is in the US for the 81st United Nations General Assembly, spoke at the Global Business Summit organized in New Jersey by the Turkish-American Business Association. Memişoğlu expressed that the healthcare opportunities of Türkiye and the US could complement each other and that joint steps would provide significant gains for both countries.
Complementing Strengths
Stating that the US stands out in health technologies, while Türkiye excels in preventive medicine and access to service, Kemal Memişoğlu emphasized that the different capabilities of the two countries are of a nature to complement each other.
Memişoğlu expressed his belief that cooperation to be established in the field of health would bring great gains for both Türkiye and the US.
Healthcare System Capacity and Domestic Production
Arguing that Türkiye has reached an important point in access and service quality over the last 25 years, the Minister of Health stated that the current system reaches 3 million people every day with 271,000 beds. He also noted that healthcare services were provided to 3 million people coming from abroad.
Relaying that a level where heart and lung pumps can be produced has been reached, Memişoğlu stated that Türkiye is at an equivalent level with the US and Europe in terms of health standards, knowledge, and production.
