Cevdet Yılmaz Announces Health Investments and 2026 Budget
Cevdet Yılmaz announced that 1 billion 514 million TL has been allocated for the TRNC health sector within the scope of the 2026 Economic and Financial Cooperation.
Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz attended the joint opening ceremony of the New Kyrenia State Hospital and Güzelyurt State Hospital in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and announced the health investment budget for 2026.
Joint Opening Ceremony Held
Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz participated in a significant opening program during his day trip to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
Yılmaz officially inaugurated the New Kyrenia State Hospital as well as the Güzelyurt State Hospital, which held its ceremony simultaneously via a live connection.
Budget Allocated to the Health Sector
Speaking at the ceremony, Cevdet Yılmaz announced that a substantial budget has been allocated for the health sector within the scope of the 2026 Economic and Financial Cooperation between Turkey and the TRNC.
According to the announced plan, a total resource of 1 billion 514 million Turkish Liras has been allocated to the TRNC health sector.
Details of Kyrenia and Güzelyurt Hospitals
The newly opened Kyrenia State Hospital offers comprehensive health services to citizens with a bed capacity of 146 across an indoor area of approximately 12,000 square meters.
It was noted that a total of 185 million TL was allocated for the Güzelyurt State Hospital, with 158.6 million TL of this amount directly converted into investments.
New Projects and Investments
Stating that the investments are being carried out in a planned manner, Yılmaz expressed that the construction of the New Nicosia Hospital as well as the Pamuklu State Hospital is progressing rapidly.
Additionally, it was shared that health investments have been implemented in Lapta, Dikmen, and Değirmenlik over the past 14 months, and the capacity of the Lapta Health Center has been increased.
