Vietnam's Ministry of Health has requested the People's Committees of provinces and cities to simultaneously implement comprehensive health services, regular check-ups, and free screenings for the elderly.

Comprehensive Healthcare Services

The Ministry of Health asks the People's Committees of provinces and cities, in coordination with Departments of Health and other relevant agencies, to carry out comprehensive activities aimed at the health of the elderly.

Priority Vulnerable Groups

The goal is to prioritize the elderly who are poor, living alone, disabled, residing in remote and ethnic minority areas, or who have limited access to healthcare services.

Early Diagnosis and Screening

Examination content must be appropriate to age and risk factors; focusing on early detection of issues such as non-communicable diseases, blood pressure, diabetes, cancer, and vision impairments.

Bright Eyes Program

Access to eye health services such as cataract surgery and vision rehabilitation is supported for elderly individuals in difficult circumstances, with relevant programs implemented according to local conditions.

Chronic Disease Management

The creation of electronic health records is being strengthened, and information transfer between primary healthcare facilities and treatment centers is being improved.

Budget and Resource Management

Local authorities must proactively allocate budgets to implement healthcare activities for the elderly and ensure transparent management in accordance with legal regulations.
