Republican Turkish Party (CTP) Deputy Filiz Besim expressed her reaction to this practice by stating that the Ministry of Health is preparing to transfer experienced nurses from critical departments of Nicosia State Hospital to newly opened hospitals and units.
Patient Safety Risk
In a post on her social media account, Besim stated that replacing experienced nurses with new nurses who have not yet completed their training would put patient safety and healthcare workers at risk.
Nicosia Hospital Should Not Be Weakened
It was noted that strengthening new units should not be done at the expense of weakening the critical departments of Nicosia State Hospital, which serves the entire country.
Reminder of Past Scandal
Referring to the formula scandal that previously occurred in the country and deeply shook society, Besim stated that patients first, and then healthcare workers, pay the price for shortcomings in the healthcare system.
Disruptions in Training Processes
Stating that nurses hired for state hospitals for years have undergone a six-month orientation and training program, Besim claimed that today, new nurses are assigned directly to departments on the day they are appointed.
Call to the Ministry and Responsibility Warning
Filiz Besim called on the Ministry of Health to immediately abandon the practice, announcing that the responsibility for any negative consequences that may arise will belong directly to the Ministry.
