Health Insurance Coverage Expanded and Basic Services Strengthened
The Ministry of Health has expanded health insurance coverage at primary healthcare facilities and assigned over a thousand doctors at the district level.
In alignment with the two-tier local government system, the Ministry of Health has issued new circulars to improve the quality of primary healthcare services and assigned over eleven hundred doctors to health facilities at the district level.
Voter Demands and New Objectives
In response to demands from voters in Hue, Thanh Hoa, and other regions, new policies are being implemented to enhance the qualifications of medical personnel, infrastructure, and medical equipment capacity.
Within the framework of the Politburo's Resolution No. 72-NQ/TW, the target is to increase the health insurance coverage rate at district-level health centers to over twenty percent.
Doctor Assignments and Circulars
Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan stated that circulars numbered forty-three and fifty-three have been issued as part of the structuring compatible with the two-tier local government model.
During the 2025-2030 period, at least one thousand doctors are planned to be temporarily assigned to district-level health stations each year.
Drug Access and Insurance Coverage
The Ministry of Health plans to expand health insurance coverage at primary healthcare facilities to include three hundred and forty-nine medicines.
Thanks to this regulation, patients' access to medicines at local facilities will be facilitated, and the need for referrals to higher-level hospitals will decrease.
