Health literacy training for mothers of children with special needs in Mardin
Within the scope of a university-led project in Mardin, a five-day comprehensive training program was carried out for mothers of children with special needs.
In the Kızıltepe district of Mardin, a five-day health literacy training program aimed at mothers of children with special needs has been completed.
Trainings within the Scope of the Project
The "Health with Mother's Power" project, carried out by Mardin Artuklu University, was implemented with the support of TÜBİTAK. The five-day training program organized by the Faculty of Health Sciences took place at the Kızıltepe Special Education Practice School. The main objective of the program is to increase mothers' access to reliable information.
Purpose and Importance of the Training
Project coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sema Çiftçi stated that mothers undertake versatile roles such as teacher and guide. Çiftçi emphasized the importance of a mother accessing accurate and reliable information as her health responsibilities increase, expressing that they aim to combine the power of knowledge with the power of the mother.
Participants and Closing
Following the successful completion of the program, certificates were presented to the participating mothers. Mardin Deputy Governor Büşra Uçar Koyun, Kızıltepe District Governor Murat Acar, and District Director of National Education Mahmut Akan attended the ceremony. Academicians and institutional representatives also took part in the program.
