19-year-old Gambian footballer Elvin Mendy, who plays for Istanbulspor, fell ill on the team bus heading to Istanbul after the match played against Manisa FK.

Health measures were implemented for the defensive midfielder, who experienced complaints of chest pain and shortness of breath around the Kırkağaç district of Manisa.

Transfer to Hospital and Intensive Care Process

The young footballer, whose discomfort increased, was first taken to the Kırkağaç State Hospital Emergency Service as a precaution and his initial checks were performed.

Following the initial intervention there, Mendy was transferred to Manisa City Hospital with suspicion of a heart attack, where he was treated in the intensive care unit and underwent an angiogram.

Health Status and Club Statement

Following the angiogram and detailed examinations performed at Manisa City Hospital, it was understood that there were no problems in the footballer's coronary vessels.

The Istanbulspor club announced that the player does not have a heart-related health problem, his general health condition is good, and the monitoring process is ongoing.
