Investigation launched after health deteriorates following sleeve gastrectomy surgery
Firstcan İlhan, whose health deteriorated and weight dropped to 72 kg after undergoing sleeve gastrectomy surgeries in Adana, is seeking help, while an investigation has been launched into the incident.
29-year-old pharmacy technician İlkcan İlhan, who underwent a sleeve gastrectomy surgery for obesity treatment at a private hospital in Adana, began experiencing severe health issues after three consecutive operations and called for help, stating that no hospital would accept her.
Surgical Process and Beginning
29-year-old İlkcan İlhan, who works as a pharmacy technician in Adana, stands 177 centimeters tall and weighed 157 kilograms. After failing to get results from shock diets she tried for years, she chose a private hospital for obesity treatment.
İlhan agreed with her doctor and was admitted to the hospital to undergo a sleeve gastrectomy surgery on September 12, 2025, and the operation was performed.
Ongoing Complications
After the first operation, İlhan began complaining of vomiting, gait disturbance, and severe pain, but received a response from her doctor that this situation was normal.
When her pain did not subside, İlhan underwent a second surgery on December 15 of the same year, entering a difficult process without regaining her health.
Third Surgery and Hospital Process
Upon the worsening of her condition, İlkcan İlhan applied to a public hospital and underwent surgery for the third time there on January 22.
Despite a total of three operations, her complaints did not end, and İlhan stated that her weight dropped down to 72 kilograms day by day.
Severe Complaints Experienced
Stating that she started seeing blood in her vomit, the young patient is struggling with serious symptoms such as gait disturbance, fainting, bloody vomiting, and diarrhea.
It was noted that the biggest problem İlhan faces is that no hospital accepts her.
Official Investigation Launched
Following İlkcan İlhan's application complaining about the private hospital due to the grievances she experienced, legal and administrative processes were put into effect.
It was reported that an official investigation was initiated regarding the matter by the Adana Provincial Directorate of Health.
