Konak Municipality Organizes Health Screening for Citizens Over 60

In partnership between Konak Municipality and the Konak District Health Directorate, a free health screening was conducted for citizens aged 60 and over within the scope of Public Health Week activities.

Held at the Healthy Living Center

The Ziya-Zişan-Saadet Aytulun Siblings Advanced Age Healthy Living Center hosted the personnel of the Konak District Health Directorate throughout Public Health Week from September 3 to 9. The event, carried out through the cooperation of the two institutions, aimed to check the health status of individuals in the older age group and raise awareness.

Various Measurements and Tests Were Performed

Within the scope of the screenings, blood sugar, blood pressure, height, and weight measurements were taken for Konak residents aged 60 and over. Additionally, a respiratory function test was applied to participants to review basic health parameters in detail.

Physical Therapy and Exercise Training

In addition to the health screening, physical therapy and posture exercises were taught practically to older individuals. Through this, it was aimed to support the musculoskeletal health of the participants with movements they can apply in their daily lives.

Support Message from Mayor Mutlu

Konak Mayor Nilüfer Çınarlı Mutlu stated that the center holds great importance for elderly neighbors in terms of socializing, developing manual skills, and participating in production. Mutlu emphasized that they do not leave citizens alone during specific periods, such as public health weeks, with such screenings and seminars.
