The Cyprus Turkish Public Servants Trade Union gathered in front of the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceuticals and called on Minister of Health Hakan Dinçyürek to resign.
Cold Chain Medicine Dispute
It was stated that a 28-year department employee refused to accept the delivery of cancer, neurology, and diabetes medications requiring a cold chain on the grounds that they were not transported under necessary temperature conditions.
Lack of Temperature and Recording Devices
It was determined that the medications were not within the required temperature range of 2-8 degrees during delivery and that temperature recording devices were missing from the boxes.
Allegation of Relocation
It was argued that instead of rewarding the employee who performed their duty, their workplace was changed, and this decision aimed to intimidate other employees.
Irregularities in Medicine Procurement Processes
It was claimed that medicines not delivered on time according to the contract and some companies previously excluded due to non-compliance were re-included in the process.
Call to Prime Minister for Dismissal
The union president called on Prime Minister Ünal Üstel to dismiss the Minister of Health, whom he claimed endangered public health.
