Majority of China's population reaches health services within 15 minutes through health reform
The Chinese State Council announced that under the Healthy China vision, the majority of the population can access healthcare facilities in a short time.
At a meeting held by the State Council Information Office of China, developments achieved in line with the Healthy China vision and details of the expanded healthcare infrastructure were shared with the public.
Healthcare Infrastructure
It was reported that more than 1.1 million medical and health institutions are in operation nationwide, establishing the world's largest healthcare infrastructure.
It was emphasized that thanks to the widespread network developed, more than 90 percent of the population can access healthcare services within a 15-minute distance.
Personnel Support
Personnel support was increased and thousands of pediatricians were deployed in order to strengthen the local service network of primary health care facilities.
Future Goals
Officials stated that they aim to further expand the capacity of a high-quality and comprehensive health system over the next five years.
Social Policies
Plans to increase daycare enrollment rates and alleviate the financial burdens of families in childbirth, child-rearing, and education processes were presented at the meeting.
