Minister Hasipoğlu visited children under state protection
The siblings of babies whose parents were detained and who had health issues were taken under state protection and placed under expert supervision.
Minister of Labour and Social Security Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu stated that a 9-month-old baby, who was diagnosed with a broken spine, and her twin sibling were taken under the protection of the Department of Social Services, and announced that the children's health conditions are being closely monitored.
Condition of the Children Taken Under Ministry Protection
The incident came to light after it was discovered in Nicosia that a 9-month-old baby had a broken spine and her twin sibling had previously suffered a brain hemorrhage.
Following the detention of the parents, the children's safety, care, and protection needs were undertaken by experts from the Department of Social Services, operating under the Ministry of Labour and Social Security.
Monitoring of Treatment and Health Processes
The treatment, rehabilitation, and protection processes of the children are being meticulously carried out under the guarantee of the state and the Ministry of Health.
Minister of Labour and Social Security Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu visited the children alongside Department of Social Services Director Alev Ecevit and received information regarding their health conditions.
Legal Process and Clear Stance Against Abuse
The investigation conducted by the Police General Directorate and judicial authorities is also being closely followed by the ministry.
Minister Hasipoğlu emphasized that they maintain a clear stance against all forms of neglect, violence, and abuse directed at the physical and mental integrity of children, and that rights violations will not be tolerated.
