Mobile health screening launched in Hakkari's border villages

Mobile health teams operating in the Yüksekova district of Hakkari traveled to Yılmaz village on the Iranian border to provide preventive health services such as cancer screenings, blood pressure checks, and blood sugar measurements to the residents.

Healthcare in rural areas

Mobile health teams operating under the Hakkari Provincial Health Directorate conduct regular visits to deliver preventive health services to citizens living in rural areas. Within this scope, the teams visit different villages every week to provide on-site healthcare.

Cancer screening and chronic disease monitoring

Reaching Yılmaz village, located in the Esendere town 45 kilometers from the Yüksekova district, medical personnel performed breast, cervical, and colon cancer screenings for women. Emphasizing the vital importance of early diagnosis, the efforts include referring citizens identified as high-risk to hospitals for further examination.

The teams also monitored chronic diseases by checking the blood pressure and blood sugar levels of the villagers. Detailed information was provided to the residents regarding methods for preventing diseases.

Warnings against rabies

In addition to health screenings, emphasis is placed on awareness activities for the local population. District Health Directorate teams conducted awareness efforts by specifically warning citizens about rabies and ways to protect against the disease.

Dr. Aydın Doğan stated that the mobile teams visit different villages every week to bring health services directly to the citizens, and that the processes for chronic disease monitoring and public awareness will continue.
