With the participation of Republic of Turkey Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, and Minister of Health Hakan Dinçyürek, the New Kyrenia State Hospital and Güzelyurt State Hospital were opened simultaneously.

Details of the Ceremony and Participants

The official opening of the New Kyrenia State Hospital and Güzelyurt State Hospital was held with a well-attended ceremony.

Protocol members attended the opening program, which was organized within the scope of the day trip by Republic of Turkey Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz.

New Era in Health Services

Kyrenia State Hospital Chief Physician Beyhan Berova stated that with the new facility, the local population will receive health services with stronger capabilities.

Berova expressed that the necessity of referrals experienced in the past will be eliminated with the new hospital.

Financial Cooperation and Future Projects

Prime Minister Ünal Üstel noted that the projects were brought to life within the scope of financial cooperation protocols signed with the Republic of Turkey.

Üstel stated that the construction works of the new 343-bed capacity Nalbantoğlu Hospital, planned to open in 2027, are continuing rapidly.

Billion-Scale Resource Transfer

Cevdet Yılmaz emphasized that while developing the healthcare infrastructure of the TRNC, the cooperation carried out with Turkey makes a great contribution to investments.

Yılmaz announced that they allocated 1 billion 514 million in resources for health within the scope of the 2026 Economic and Financial Cooperation Protocol.

Güzelyurt's New Health Infrastructure

Minister of Health Hakan Dinçyürek announced that the Güzelyurt State Hospital will begin serving with 36 physicians working in 18 different branches.

It was stated that the emergency department will provide uninterrupted service 24 hours a day with two teams and technological equipment investments have been completed.
