Number of Expectant Mothers Trained in Pregnancy Schools Exceeds Three Million

According to data from the Ministry of Health, a total of 3,132,170 expectant mothers received comprehensive training in pregnancy schools from 2023 to the first six months of 2026.

Distribution of Trainings Given in Pregnancy Schools by Years

According to Ministry of Health data, while 772,236 expectant mothers received training in 2023, this number rose to 1,022,738 in 2024. The programs continued with 939,538 expectant mothers in 2025.

In the first six months of 2026, 397,658 expectant mothers were reached, bringing the total number of completed expectant mother trainings to 3,132,170.

Programs Carried Out for Maternal and Infant Health

Pregnancy Schools, the Baby-Friendly Hospital Program, and the Midwife for Every Pregnant Woman practices are implemented by the Ministry to prepare expectant mothers for birth in a healthy manner.

Through these practices, the prenatal and postnatal processes of pregnant women are closely monitored, aiming to protect maternal and infant health.

Regular Follow-up Rates During Pregnancy and Puerperium

Within the scope of the prenatal care program, regular follow-ups of pregnant women are carried out meticulously. Follow-ups were conducted for 99.6 percent of pregnant women in 2024, 99.8 percent in 2025, and 99.8 percent in the 8 months of 2026.

Similarly high successes were achieved in postpartum follow-ups, reaching rates of 99.7 percent in 2024, and 99.8 percent in 2025 and 2026.

Midwife-Assisted Counseling and Home Visit Services

Within the framework of the Midwife for Every Pregnant Woman and Coordinator Midwife practices, one-on-one counseling services are offered to expectant mothers. Through coordinator midwives, counseling was provided to 438,864 pregnant women in 2025 and 511,290 pregnant women in the first 8 months of 2026.

Additionally, home visits were conducted for a total of 48,088 pregnant women in high-risk conditions to closely monitor their health status.

Motherhood Journey Mobile Health Application

The Motherhood Journey Mobile Health Application was launched so that mothers can quickly access accurate and reliable information throughout their pregnancy.

Through this digital platform, it is aimed to raise awareness among expectant mothers and ensure they easily reach the information they are curious about regarding the process.
