In accordance with the decision made by the Ministry of Health, if the test and diagnostic imaging results performed within the year maintain their validity, individuals are not required to repeat these tests during routine health check-ups.

Purpose and Scope of the Practice

The Ministry of Health requests doctors to proactively check the results of tests and diagnostic imaging procedures performed within the year.

If the results are still valid, it is aimed to prevent unnecessary hassle and waste thanks to the fact that individuals do not need to have tests done again.

Document Sent to Local Authorities

The Ministry of Health recently sent an official document to the People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities in order to address obstacles in the implementation of the free periodic health check-up program for citizens.

Based on preliminary reports from local authorities, it has been stated that many difficulties have arisen in practice, such as test procedures and health insurance integration.

Compliance with the Circular and the Role of Doctors

The content and documentation of periodic health check-ups must comply with Circular No. 25/2026/TT-BYT.

The prescription of paraclinical techniques for individuals aged six and over is entirely based on the doctor's professional assessment and is not mandatory for all individuals.

Control via Digital Systems

Doctors are required to access the test and diagnostic imaging results that individuals have undergone within the year through the Health Insurance Claim Information System Data Retrieval Portal.

In addition, it is checked whether the results are still professionally valid by using the VNeID database or personal electronic health records.
