On-site healthcare services for female milkers working in high-altitude plateaus
Teams have mobilized for women who engage in animal husbandry under harsh geographical conditions and struggle to visit health centers.
District Health Directorate teams climbed to the plateau at an altitude of 2,300 meters to conduct health checks on female milkers milking sheep and provided counseling services on various topics.
Healthcare Work in the Plateau
Health teams operating within the District Health Directorate continue their efforts to ensure that citizens living far away from the center in harsh geographies are not deprived of health services. In this context, the teams went up to the plateau of Keçili village at an altitude of 2,300 meters, reaching out to women who spend a large part of the day milking sheep and caring for animals.
Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar Measurement
Within the framework of the activities carried out on the plateau, blood pressure and blood sugar measurements of the citizens were taken. Medical personnel also provided counseling on smoking cessation and carried out regular follow-ups for individuals with chronic illnesses.
Mobile Activities Throughout the Year
Dr. Serhat Çobanoğlu, working at the District Health Directorate, stated that they go directly to individuals who have difficulty accessing healthcare services. Çobanoğlu noted that they have provided health support to citizens through a total of 88 mobile service activities since the beginning of the year.
Satisfaction Among Women
Female milkers, who find it difficult to go to health centers due to their daily chores, expressed their satisfaction with the service being brought all the way to the plateau. Berivan Kaplan and Sipan Arslan, who milk sheep on the plateau, thanked the health teams for the opportunities provided.
