Pedestrian Seriously Injured After Being Hit by Truck in Tekirdağ Kapaklı

A 76-year-old woman attempting to cross the street at a pedestrian crossing in the Kapaklı district of Tekirdağ was seriously injured after being hit by a foreign-plated truck, and was rescued from under the truck and transferred to the hospital.

Moment of the Accident and Response

In the incident that occurred on Mithatpaşa Street in Cumhuriyet Neighborhood of Tekirdağ's Kapaklı district, a foreign-plated truck struck 76-year-old F.T. as she was trying to cross at the pedestrian crossing.

A large number of police, medical, and fire rescue teams were dispatched to the scene to rescue the woman, who was trapped under the truck due to the impact of the collision.

Rescue and Hospital Process

Fire rescue teams arriving at the scene lifted the truck from its position using a compressor and a crane, freeing the elderly woman from where she was trapped.

Seriously injured F.T., who received her initial intervention at the scene by medical teams, was taken by ambulance to Kapaklı State Hospital and placed under treatment.

Following the accident, the truck driver was detained by police teams and taken to the police station.
