Proposal to Include Cancer Screening Costs in Health Insurance Coverage
It is planned that the costs of early screening for 7 types of cancer, including breast and lung cancer, will be covered by the fund.
The Ministry of Health is drafting a decree that stipulates the screening and early diagnosis costs for cervical, breast, lung, prostate, colon, stomach, and liver cancers to be covered by the Health Insurance Fund.
Types of Cancer Planned to Be Included in Coverage
With the newly prepared draft decree, screening and early diagnosis costs for a total of seven types of cancer are expected to be covered by the Health Insurance Fund.
In this context, along with cervical, breast, lung, prostate, colon, stomach, and liver cancers, hepatitis B and hepatitis C are also among the proposed groups.
Details of Insurance Coverage and Expenses
According to the draft, the insurance coverage will not be limited to only a single screening stage and will also include examinations and tests.
Related costs such as paraclinical technical services, medicines, medical equipment, blood, consumables, and chemicals may also be covered under this policy.
Other Health Steps Planned for the Future Period
The Ministry of Health also proposes to cover the nutrition treatment costs of certain special children's groups starting from July 1, 2027.
Starting from January 1, 2028, it is planned to expand payments for chronic disease management costs and certain other preventive services.
