Suspects Undergo Medical Checkup in Investigation Over Missing Baby Büşra in Sivas
The number of detentions in the investigation regarding the disappearance of 11-month-old baby Büşra in Sivas has reached 10; 3 people, including the father, were referred to the hospital.
While search efforts continue for 11-month-old baby Büşra who went missing in the Divriği district of Sivas, three suspects, including the father and aunt, were taken to the hospital for a medical checkup following the mother's contradictory statements.
Search Process Starting in the Tent
A search operation was launched upon the report that 11-month-old baby girl Büşra had gone missing from the tent where her family, engaged in livestock farming, was temporarily staying at the İncedere Plateau in Göndüren village of Sivas's Divriği district.
Gendarmerie public order, commando teams, and AFAD units continue search operations in the region under challenging terrain conditions.
The Mother's Changing Statements
Detained mother Elif Balıkçı initially claimed in her statements that her child had been sold for money, and then changed her statement to allege that the baby was killed by the father.
Stating that she had previously given false statements out of fear, Elif Balıkçı filed a complaint against her husband and participated in a crime scene reenactment accompanied by a prosecutor.
High Security and Search Operations
Taking strict security measures in the area and using signal jammers, gendarmerie teams shifted search operations to the rocky area pointed out by the mother.
No evidence regarding the baby has yet been found from the searches carried out by teams using artificial intelligence-supported drones and tracking dogs.
Number of Detentions Rises to Ten
Following Elif Balıkçı's new statement, 4 more people were detained, bringing the total number of detentions in the scope of the investigation to 10.
The family's other 4 children were placed under state protection.
Medical Checkup and Judicial Process
Following procedures at the District Police Department, father Yusuf Balıkçı along with İsmail B. and Rahime B. were taken to the District State Hospital for medical checkups.
The suspects are expected to be referred to the Divriği Courthouse after the completion of their interrogation procedures.
