Ship from Turkey Capable of Intervening at a Depth of One Thousand Meters Arrives for Kyrenia Ship Disaster

Stating that search and rescue operations are continuing uninterrupted following the ship disaster at Kyrenia Harbor, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus President Tufan Erhürman announced that a ship capable of intervening down to a depth of approximately one thousand meters from Turkey will arrive in the region tomorrow.

TRNC President Tufan Erhürman stated that search and rescue activities initiated after the ship disaster at Kyrenia Harbor are continuing uninterrupted day and night.

Making statements to the press after visiting families who lost their loved ones in the disaster, Erhürman expressed that intensive efforts are being made to reach the missing persons.

Support Ship Arriving from Turkey

It was announced that great support will be provided to the search operations from Turkey and a new ship will reach the TRNC tomorrow.

It was noted that the ship in question has the capacity to intervene up to a depth of approximately one thousand meters and will make a significant contribution to the search activities in the region.

9 People Arrested in the Investigation

Information was shared that 9 people have been arrested so far within the scope of the investigation conducted regarding the judicial aspect of the disaster.

Stating that the claims reflected in the public opinion are being investigated transparently, officials emphasized that work continues to shed light on all aspects of the incident.

It was announced that the identities of all 8 people who lost their lives in the disaster have been definitively determined.

It was reported that following the completion of the identification procedures, the families of the deceased were reached and the necessary official information was provided.
