10 Social Media Influencers Referred to Courthouse for Sharing Obscene and Threatening Content
Social media influencers producing fights and obscene content in live broadcasts were caught in a police operation and referred to the courthouse.
In an operation conducted in Istanbul and numerous other provinces, 10 suspects who generated income by sharing fight, threat, and obscene content through their social media accounts were detained.
Initiation of the Investigation
The Istanbul Police Department along with the Public Order and Cyber Crimes Branch Offices initiated a joint effort.
Broadcasts containing threats and insults on platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and X were taken under review.
Multi-Province Operation
Simultaneous raids were organized against addresses identified in Istanbul as the base, as well as Ankara, Antalya, Bursa, and several other provinces.
As a result of the operations carried out, a total of 10 suspects against whom legal proceedings were initiated were caught and detained.
Monthly Income Declarations
The suspects, interrogated at the Public Order Branch Office, stated that they did not know what they were doing was a crime.
During the interrogation, it emerged that the suspects' monthly incomes ranged between 200 thousand liras and 500 thousand liras.
Legal Proceedings
Blood samples were taken from the detained individuals in order to determine whether or not they used drugs.
Legal action was taken against the suspects on charges of inciting the public to hatred and hostility, and obscenity.
Names Referred to the Courthouse
The social media influencers whose procedures at the police station were completed were referred to the courthouse.
Among those referred are names such as Sinan Kaya, Cansum Kaya, Ferhat Billor, and Çağlayan Yıldırım.
