Access block imposed on 246 accounts in investigation regarding stock market posts
Legal sanctions were applied to social media accounts making posts that panic investors through capital market instruments.
Within the scope of the investigation initiated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding posts in the capital market, access blocks were imposed on 246 social media accounts determined to have incited fear and panic among investors.
Initiation of the Investigation
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Bureau of Investigation for Informatics Crimes initiated an ex officio investigation regarding posts on certain social media platforms.
Identification of the Accounts
As a result of the examinations conducted, 246 social media accounts were identified that were evaluated as directly or indirectly making posts regarding capital market instruments that could incite fear and panic among investors.
Access Block Decision
The Istanbul 1st Criminal Judgeship of Peace decided to block access to the aforementioned 246 social media accounts and their contents. This decision was sent to the Cyber Security Presidency for implementation.
