EngelliWeb Project's Social Media Account Blocked from Access in Turkey
The official X account of EngelliWeb, which tracks internet bans within the Freedom of Association, has been blocked from Turkey in accordance with a decision.
The X platform account of the EngelliWeb project, which announces internet access block decisions to the public by the Freedom of Association, has been closed to access from Turkey.
Blocking Decision Against EngelliWeb Account
A new restriction has been added to the limitations imposed on websites and social media platforms in Turkey. It was reported that an access block decision was made regarding the X account of the EngelliWeb project, which operates under the Freedom of Association. Following the decision, it was determined that the account became inaccessible from Turkey.
Yaman Akdeniz's Account Had Also Been Blocked
This development brings back to mind similar measures applied to figures monitoring freedom of expression restrictions on the internet. The X account of Prof. Dr. Yaman Akdeniz, one of the founders of İFÖD, had also been closed to access on the grounds of protecting national security and public order.
Access Block Decision for T24
Within the scope of access blocks recently implemented in the internet environment, new decisions continue to be made. In line with an investigation conducted by the Istanbul 1st Criminal Judgeship of Peace, an access block had also been imposed on the news site T24's website and social media accounts.
