700-Decare Uzunkum Project Discussed at Sports Investments Meeting in Trabzon
At the sports investments meeting held in Trabzon, many new facility projects were evaluated, including the Uzunkum Living Area to be established on an area of over 700 decares.
New projects to strengthen the city's sports infrastructure were discussed at a youth and sports investments meeting held in Trabzon. At the meeting, it was announced that the foundation of the Uzunkum Living Area project, which draws attention with its size exceeding 700 decares, will be laid next week.
Sports Investments Evaluated
Youth and sports investments underway and planned across Trabzon were addressed in a comprehensive meeting. The status of new stadiums, student dormitories, youth centers, and facilities was discussed.
It was shared with participants at the meeting that there are currently 103 active sports facilities and 83,402 licensed athletes in the city.
700-Decare Living Area
The most notable topic of the meeting was the Uzunkum Living Area project, which will be implemented on an area of over 700 decares. Within the scope of the project, there will be tennis courts, sports halls, artificial turf pitches, and walking and cycling paths.
Project Groundbreaking Date
The foundation of the Uzunkum Living Area project is planned to be laid next week as part of the visit of Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum to Trabzon.
Wide Participation Meeting
The meeting, held at the Türkiye Olympic Preparation Center Directorate, was attended by Trabzon Governor Tahir Şahin, deputies Adil Karaismailoğlu, Yılmaz Büyükaydın, and Vehbi Koç. Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç and AK Party Provincial Chairman Sezgin Mumcu were also present at the meeting.
Uninterrupted Corridor Project
It was stated that efforts are underway to connect walking paths, bicycle paths, and running tracks stretching from Akçaabat to Trabzon to create an uninterrupted sports corridor.
