Amateur Sports Week begins with events in Adana and Osmaniye
Amateur Sports Week events officially began with ceremonies and parade marches held in Adana and Osmaniye.
Various parade marches and official ceremonies were organized in the provinces of Adana and Osmaniye within the scope of Amateur Sports Week.
Parade March and Ceremony in Adana
The parade march in Adana, which started at the Atatürk Street Sular Intersection, continued with a ceremony at Atatürk Park. Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Mustafa Loğoğlu and Adana Amateur Sports Clubs Federation President Ahmet Bozan laid a wreath at the Atatürk Monument. After a moment of silence, the participants sang the National Anthem.
Social Importance of Amateur Sports
Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Mustafa Loğoğlu stated that Amateur Sports Week has been ongoing since 2013 with the aim of spreading sports to every segment of society. Loğoğlu expressed that amateur sports are a strong culture that nurtures discipline, self-confidence, solidarity, and a healthy lifestyle awareness.
The Role of Amateur Clubs
Adana Amateur Sports Clubs Federation President Ahmet Bozan conveyed that many athletes representing Turkey started their sports lives in amateur clubs. Bozan stated that amateur clubs provide hope for children, goals for youth, and brotherhood for society.
Events and March in Osmaniye
In Osmaniye, a parade march was organized by the Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports within the scope of Amateur Sports Week. The march, which started in front of the entrance gate of Osmaniye Korkut Ata University, ended at the Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports hockey field.
Protocol and Participants
Following the march, Deputy Governor Aziz Onur Aydın conveyed his wishes for success to all amateur athletes. The event was attended by Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Ahmet Asım Demirdöğen, representatives of various institutions, coaches, and athletes.
