Bahçeli's statement on Amedspor: Sports should not be used as a tool for identity politics

Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Bahçeli expressed satisfaction with Amedspor's success in the Süper Lig while warning that the club must not be used as a tool for identity politics and dirty projects.
Assessments on Süper Lig Success
Reminding that he had previously welcomed Amedspor's promotion to the Süper Lig, MHP leader Bahçeli emphasized that his evaluations regarding the club are related to sporting success.
Stating that Amedspor is a football club of Turkey and must definitely remain so, Bahçeli expressed satisfaction with the club's presence in the Süper Lig.
Warning on Identity Politics and Provocation
Arguing that Amedspor is desired to be used as a tool for dirty projects by certain circles, Bahçeli called on the club management and the people of Diyarbakır to react against this situation.
Stating that the stands must absolutely not be turned into areas of provocation, Bahçeli noted that there will definitely be no turning back from the goal of a Terror-Free Turkey.
Demand for Legal Regulation on Public Opinion Polls
Bahçeli also stated in his remarks that comprehensive legal regulations should be made regarding public opinion polls, suggesting that the qualifications in this field should be clearly defined.
He stated that criminal sanctions should be applied to research organizations and researchers found to have presented misleading information in order to manipulate the public.
Past Congratulatory Message and Emphasis on Brotherhood
It was recalled that following Amedspor's promotion to the Süper Lig for the first time in its history last May, he had sent a congratulatory message to club president Nahit Eren.
Bahçeli had found this success valuable for Diyarbakır and Turkish football, and had wished for the club to prioritize the law of brotherhood and contribute to the country's climate of unity and solidarity.
