Purpose of the Workshop and Participants
An important scientific workshop was held, co-chaired by officials from the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Institute of Medicinal Materials under the Ministry of Health. The event was attended by representatives from various ministries, municipal people's committees, research institutes, universities, and businesses in the sector.
Conducted Research Projects and Results
Since 2010, the Ministry of Science and Technology has implemented 250 projects, including nearly 30 research projects in the field of medicinal plants. As a result of these efforts, 788 medicinal plant species were recorded, establishing an important database.
Key Issues Addressed by Delegates
Participants of the workshop evaluated issues regarding the development of raw material areas, conservation of genetic resources, processing, and commercialization of products. Furthermore, strengthening cooperation between scientists and businesses was discussed.
Future Plans and Coordination
The Department of Science and Technology will synthesize the submitted proposals and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to resolve urgent issues. Resource conservation efforts will be linked with production development and livelihood creation processes for the public.
