European Week of Sport Kicks Off in Sofia
The opening program of the events promoting physical activity and healthy living nationwide is taking place with high participation in Sofia.
The opening in Sofia of the #BeActive initiative, launched by the European Commission to encourage European Union citizens to take up sports, is being held with the participation of leading figures from the sports world.
Opening Ceremony
The opening of the European Week of Sport 2026 is taking place in front of the "Ivan Vazov" National Theatre. The event is opened by Minister of Youth and Sports Encho Keryazov and prominent athletes.
Event Ambassadors
Successful track and field athletes and national gymnasts are among the ambassadors of the organization. These figures will work throughout the week to spread awareness of healthy living.
Healthy Living Fair
At the fair organized within the scope of the program, visitors have the opportunity to watch sports demonstrations. Participants can take part in workouts, competitions, and various health activities.
Final Program
The finale of the events will take place in front of the National Palace of Culture NDK. The closing program will kick off with the international Break the Limits tournament.
Sports Night and Entertainment
Various sports shows and stage performances are organized as part of the final program. The night ends with concerts by beloved music bands and a light show.
