Sebahattin Şahin Resigns from MHK Membership Following 'Referees File' Investigation
MHK Chairman Ferhat Gündoğdu, who was arrested as part of ongoing judicial investigations, and member Sebahattin Şahin, who was released under judicial control, announced they have resigned from their positions.
Significant resignations occurred within the Central Arbitration Board (MHK) management as part of the Referees File investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Arrested MHK Chairman Ferhat Gündoğdu and MHK member Sebahattin Şahin, who was released under judicial control measures, announced that they have left their posts.
Resignations Within the Scope of the Investigation
Within the scope of the Referees File investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, resignation decisions came successively within the Central Arbitration Board management.
Ferhat Gündoğdu's Resignation
MHK Chairman Ferhat Gündoğdu, who was arrested within the framework of the investigation, submitted his resignation petition to the Turkish Football Federation through his lawyers in order to prevent the TFF from being tarnished and to avoid any harm to the judicial process.
Legal Process and Lawyers' Statements
Gündoğdu's lawyers stated that the request for arrest for the crimes of misconduct in office and threats was rejected by the Istanbul 5th Criminal Judgeship of Peace, but the arrest measure was applied regarding the crime of recording personal data.
TFF's Official Information
The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) also announced in a statement that Gündoğdu had notified the federation in writing of his resignation from his post in order for the judicial process to be conducted healthily and for MHK activities not to be disrupted.
Sebahattin Şahin's Departure
MHK member Sebahattin Şahin, who was detained within the same investigation and released with judicial control measures such as an international travel ban and signature requirements, also announced that he resigned from his post.
