High school students who achieved first place at TEKNOFEST Southeast, organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Technology and the T3 Foundation at Şanlıurfa GAP Airport, talked about their projects that will shape the future.

TEKNOFEST Enthusiasm in Şanlıurfa

The Aviation, Space and Technology Festival (TEKNOFEST), for which TRT is the communication partner, continues at Şanlıurfa GAP Airport. Within the scope of the event, the finals of 14 different competitions were held in Şanlıurfa.

International Participation and Applications

A total of 125,036 teams and 229,501 competitors applied for the competitions. 427 teams and 2,148 competitors managed to remain in the finals, and participation from 36 countries was achieved in the final stage.

Success in Cell Freezing Technology

Behlül Ömer Yetkin, a student at Mecidiyeköy Anatolian High School who came first in the Biotechnology Innovation Competition High School Category, developed a protein that provides a 95 percent viability rate on cell freezing technology and does not harm humans.

Climate Change and Environmental Projects

Ayşe Umay Bahçivan, who won first place in the High School Students Climate Change Research Projects Competition in the Environment category, stated that she participated in the competition for the first time and expressed her happiness for receiving the award.

Icelets Project for Antarctica

Yusuf Mert Dalgıç and Abdullah Nazım Karanfil, 11th-grade students at ARGEM who won first place in the Polar Research Projects Competition with their Icelets Project, stated that they developed a device that detects melting, cracking, and fracturing in ice masses at the poles.
