Sports Summit Held in Malatya and Investments Evaluated
Hosted by the Malatya Metropolitan Municipality, the Sports Summit discussed sports investments and future goals during the city's reconstruction process.
Sports investments and future goals of the city were discussed at the Sports Summit organized by the Malatya Metropolitan Municipality; the program was attended by former national athletes Tanju Çolak, Hami Mandıralı, and Ahmet Dursun.
Summit at the Central Sports Hall
The Sports Summit, organized by the Malatya Metropolitan Municipality, took place at the Central Sports Hall.
Moderated by TRT Sports Broadcaster Erdoğan Arıkan, the program hosted former national athletes Tanju Çolak, Hami Mandıralı, and Ahmet Dursun as guests.
Statements by the Mayor
Malatya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Sami Er emphasized that sports investments hold a critical place in the city's reconstruction process.
He stated that they have made 4 billion liras worth of youth, sports, and culture investments with the goal of making Malatya a city of sports and libraries.
Ongoing Facilities and Projects
While the construction of approximately 43 sports facilities continues across the city, it was reported that a significant portion of these facilities will be put into service by the end of the year.
Additionally, it was announced that the Amateur Sports House project is nearing completion and 25 million liras of equipment support has been provided.
Future Goals and the Super Lig
Mayor Sami Er stated that they aim for a Malatya that is ambitious in every branch of sports in 5, 6, and 10 years.
He noted that they expect Malatya football to be in the Super Lig as soon as possible.
Views of Former National Athletes
Former national footballer Hami Mandıralı stated that Malatya is rising again with sports investments and wished for Yeşilyurtspor to return to the Super Lig.
Ahmet Dursun expressed his appreciation for the importance given to sports while wounds are being healed after the earthquake, while Tanju Çolak announced that they held talks to establish the Tanju Çolak Football Academy.
