According to the comprehensive report prepared, the country's sports economy has reached a giant volume through direct expenditures and public investments.

According to the report prepared in cooperation with the National Olympic Committee of Türkiye and Deloitte Türkiye, the total size of the sports economy in Türkiye has reached the level of 181 billion TL. A significant portion of this figure was generated by public investments and direct expenditures.

General Distribution of the Sports Economy

The total size of the sports economy in Türkiye has reached 181 billion TL. While 81 billion TL of this amount consists of direct expenditures in the field of sports, approximately 100 billion TL was generated by public investments.

Professional Club and Infrastructure Investments

The professional sports economy, along with club and athlete activities, reached a size of 54.2 billion TL. The amount of public investments realized for sports facilities and infrastructure was recorded at approximately 100 billion TL.

The Share of Football in Professional Sports

In the professional sports economy, football ranks first by a wide margin with 41.4 billion TL. The football branch is followed by basketball with 7.3 billion TL and volleyball with 4.6 billion TL, while direct fan expenditures in football were calculated as 18.5 billion TL and broadcast revenues as 8.8 billion TL.

The Rise of Women's Volleyball

Women's volleyball accounts for more than 60 percent of the volleyball economy. While the Sultanlar Ligi alone corresponds to approximately 45 percent of the volleyball economy, women's volleyball stands out among the country's strong sports brands in the international arena.

Amateur Branches and Paralympic Ecosystem

While the amateur sports economy reached approximately 10 billion TL, 4.7 billion TL of this was generated by football. School and university sports provided a size of 1.2 billion TL, while the size of the paralympic sports ecosystem, which won 28 medals at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, was 761 million TL.

Contribution of Sports Tourism to the Economy

The contribution of sports tourism to the Turkish economy was calculated to be between 45 and 55 billion TL. It was reported that between 50 and 60 percent of this generated revenue came from international visitors, with golf tourism and team camps in Antalya-Belek standing out.
