Turkish Football Federation denies claims regarding Liège Airport
The TFF denied allegations of entry issues at Liège Airport ahead of the match against Belgium, stating that the process was a routine security procedure.
The Turkish Football Federation announced that reports claiming the National Football Team experienced difficulties entering the country at Liège Airport before the match against Belgium do not reflect the truth, and that the process consisted solely of routine security and escort procedures.
The Process at the Airport
The Turkish Football Federation delegation landed at Liège Airport on a charter plane belonging to Turkish Airlines for the match against Belgium. Contrary to claims in the press, the players and technical staff left the airport in a short time following routine procedures.
Security and Escort Procedure
For security purposes, the delegation was escorted by airport officials, and accordingly, the national team players and technical staff were provided with a quick passage as a priority.
Support from the Embassy
Accompanied by Turkey's Ambassador to Belgium, the delegation managed to exit the airport without being subjected to any problems or search procedures.
Cargo-Focused Airport Structure
At Liège Airport, which primarily serves cargo and logistics, delegation members completed their passage safely, and it was stated that reflections in press organs do not reflect the truth.
Message of Thanks from TFF
The TFF extended its thanks to the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Brussels and Belgian authorities for their support, interest, and cooperation throughout the process.
Allegations Raised
Earlier, some press organs had claimed that after the national team delegation's passport control, the TFF delegation was not allowed to pass and could not enter the country.
