Drawing 2-2 with Ukraine in the qualifier played in Hungary, the Under-21 National Team reached 12 points, guaranteeing second place in the group and a spot in the play-offs.
The Under-21 National Football Team faced Ukraine in their seventh match in Group H of the UEFA European Under-21 Championship Qualifiers, leaving the pitch with a 2-2 draw and grabbing the play-off ticket.
Match Details and First Half
The crescent-and-star team started the match played at the DVTK Stadium in Miskolc, Hungary, due to the ongoing war in Ukraine, quite well.
The national team closed the first half of the match with a 2-0 lead, thanks to goals scored by Emirhan İlkhan in the 12th minute and Ali Habeşoğlu in the 33rd minute.
Ukraine's Comeback
Right at the start of the second half, in the 47th minute, Ukraine brought the score to 2-1 with a goal scored by Danylo Krevsun, reducing the deficit to one.
Unable to maintain their score advantage against the opponent's pressure, the nationals could not prevent a goal by Maksym Melnychenko in the 82nd minute, making it 2-2.
Play-Off Guarantee
Closing their goal against the attacks of Ukraine, which took risks in the remaining periods, the Under-21 National Team left the pitch with a 2-2 draw.
With this result, Turkey took its third draw in its seventh match in Group H, raising its points to 12 and guaranteeing to finish the group in second place.

Managed by head coach Egemen Korkmaz, the national team will complete their group matches with the encounter they will play against Hungary in Istanbul on Tuesday, October 6th.
