"Streets Safe" Operation Launched Across Turkey

Simultaneous operations were launched across Turkey against street gangs and new-generation criminal organizations, resulting in judicial proceedings against thousands of suspects.

Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek and Minister of Interior Mustafa Çiftçi announced the launch of the "Streets Safe" operations nationwide on the day schools opened. Conducted under the coordination of 78 Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices, judicial proceedings and detention orders were applied to thousands of individuals.

Details of Simultaneous Operations

Within the scope of investigations carried out by 78 Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices under the coordination of the Directorate General of Criminal Affairs, judicial proceedings were initiated against 2,447 suspects.

With the participation of gendarmerie and police forces, 148 simultaneous operations were carried out across the country, aiming to dismantle criminal networks.

Steps Against New-Generation Criminal Organizations

In operations organized by the Ministry of Interior in 48 provinces targeting new-generation criminal organizations, detention orders were issued for a total of 1,008 suspects.

It was determined that the suspects engaged in activities such as recruiting hitmen via communication platforms, praising crime and criminals, and publicizing organizational activities.

Statements from the Ministers

Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek stated that they aim to completely eliminate the human resources, financing, and crime-producing capacities of criminal organizations.

Minister of Interior Mustafa Çiftçi emphasized that the fight against criminal networks in the virtual world will continue resolutely and that the breath of the state will be upon the criminals.
