African Union Aims to Develop Education and Technology Cooperation with Turkey

The Turkey-Africa partnership is fundamentally based on the cooperation framework established in 2008 and has shown development over the years.
The Istanbul Declaration signed in 2021 constituted an important turning point in further deepening this strategic partnership.
Maarif Foundation and Institutional Works
It was noted that efforts have been initiated to establish a structured memorandum of understanding at the institutional level with the Turkish Maarif Foundation.
Thanks to this memorandum of understanding, it is aimed to further strengthen the institutional ties in the field of education between the two parties.
Universities and Research Field
Commissioner Banyankimbona stated that they are open to deep cooperation opportunities with Turkish institutions, especially universities and research organizations.
Intentions to develop joint projects in the scientific field and increase academic exchanges were expressed by the parties.
