Autonomous Agricultural Vehicle for Greenhouse and Livestock Introduced at TEKNOFEST
Equipped with artificial intelligence and sensor technologies, the autonomous ground vehicle undertakes tasks such as harvesting and spraying in greenhouses without the need for human intervention.
Developed by the TÜME Foundation, the artificial intelligence-supported autonomous agricultural vehicle made its debut at TEKNOFEST in Şanlıurfa and was designed to be used in greenhouses and livestock farming.
Autonomous Vehicle Introduced at TEKNOFEST
TEKNOFEST, organized under the leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Technology and the T3 Foundation, opened its doors to visitors at the Şanlıurfa GAP Airport. Exhibited in the TÜME Event Area of the festival, the artificial intelligence-supported autonomous ground vehicle can move without the need for human intervention.
Goal of Reducing Labor and Costs in Agriculture
Mehmet Fatih Özay, a member of the TÜME Foundation Board of Directors, stated that they aim to reduce labor and costs in the agricultural sector through autonomous technologies. It was stated that the vehicle has a wide range of applications, especially in greenhouse blueberry production.
Comprehensive Functions and Smart Systems
The developed vehicle has the capabilities of self-charging, pesticide refilling, disease monitoring, and harvesting through robotic arm integration. Additionally, it can perform various tasks in the livestock sector such as feed distribution and compost mixing.
Sensor Technology and Mobile Control
Robotics Engineer Ali Altın drew attention to the disadvantages of using drones in greenhouses, emphasizing that the system, equipped with cameras and lidar sensors, moves autonomously. Controlled via a mobile application, the vehicle returns to the charging station when its task is complete.
R&D Process Completed in a Short Time
Barış Şen from the Electronic and Mechanical R&D department stated that the mechanical design of the first prototpye took about a month. Together with software developments, it was announced that the project was completed in a short period of 2 to 2.5 months.
