Xiaomi has shared the technical details of the dual 200 MP Leica rear camera system that will feature in its new flagship models.
Aiming to deliver high detail in both day and night shots, the system incorporates significant innovations in terms of size and optical architecture.
Main and Periscope Telephoto Cameras
The main camera comes before users with a large 1/1.28-inch sensor and Leica optical glass construction.
The 200 MP periscope telephoto camera offers a 1/1.56-inch sensor size, f/2.4 aperture, and 3.2x optical zoom support.
Macro Capability and Light Intake
Thanks to the movable lens structure, the 75 mm telephoto camera can perform macro focusing from a very close distance of 12 cm.
The new telephoto sensor collects 280 percent more light in the Xiaomi 18 Pro and 83 percent more light in the 18 Pro Max model compared to the previous generation.
Display and Privacy Technologies
The screen features built-in hardware-level privacy technology that prevents content from being viewed when looked at from side angles.
The M11 light-emitting panel provides 20 percent higher energy efficiency compared to the previous generation while reaching a peak brightness of 4,000 nits.
Battery and Processor Details
The Xiaomi 18 Pro model will reach users with a 7,000 mAh battery capacity, while the 18 Pro Max model will feature an 8,500 mAh battery capacity.
The devices are expected to be powered by Qualcomm's new 2nm architecture Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro platform.
