A research team led by Nguyen Phuong Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Committee on Science, Technology and Environment, conducted inspections at food businesses in Ho Chi Minh City on August 27 to facilitate the review of the draft Food Safety Law.
Field Inspections for the Food Safety Draft
The research team, led by Nguyen Phuong Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Committee on Science, Technology and Environment, visited SPM Joint Stock Company and the Ho Chi Minh City branch of Asia Confectionery Joint Stock Company.
Businesses' Digitalization and Production Processes
SPM Joint Stock Company stated that its production process is controlled in a closed loop from raw materials to finished products, with electronic systems implemented for centralized management. At the Asia Confectionery branch, production lines and storage areas were inspected.
Cost Pressures and Demands of Businesses
Stating that rising input and testing costs create pressure on production, companies requested the completion of Food Safety Law guidelines and incentive policies for digital transformation and artificial intelligence investments.
Legal Regulations and Search for Solutions
The research team called for the clear identification of difficulties and shortcomings encountered in the implementation of food safety regulations, particularly Decree No. 15/2018/ND-CP, paving the way for new solutions.
