The mother city project implemented by Çorum Municipality was shared internationally as the subject of a comprehensive academic research at the European Sociological Association Conference held in Poland's capital, Warsaw.

Took Part in the European Sociology Conference

The conference held this year by the European Sociological Association in Poland's capital, Warsaw, stood out as one of the continent's most important sociology gatherings.

Organized under the main theme of Strengthening Democracies, many important academic papers and researches from different countries were presented to participants.

Details of the Academic Study

A special study prepared by Istanbul University Department of Sociology faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ali Akyurt and Elif Fatma Kaplan attracted great interest.

Titled Seeing the Mother-Friendly City Vision Through Fathers' Eyes, this research was selected from among more than three thousand applications and presented on an international platform.

Social Dimensions of the Project

Within the scope of the research, Çorum Municipality's Women's Culture Centers, Bedesten Family Life Center, and child- and parent-focused social services were handled in detail.

The report emphasized that the project is not limited only to services aimed at mothers, but also shares the care burden and strengthens father-child relationships.
