First T625 GÖKBEY Helicopter Added to the Inventory of the General Directorate of Security
With a ceremony held at TUSAŞ's Kahramankazan campus, the first T625 GÖKBEY general-purpose helicopter was delivered to the General Directorate of Security.
With a ceremony held at the TUSAŞ Kahramankazan campus, the first indigenous and national general-purpose helicopter, the T625 GÖKBEY, joined the inventory of the General Directorate of Security. Relevant ministers and senior officials attended the ceremony.
Delivery Ceremony Held at TUSAŞ
An official ceremony was held at the TUSAŞ Kahramankazan campus for the first delivery of the T625 GÖKBEY general-purpose helicopter to the General Directorate of Security.
Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi, Presidency of Defense Industries President Haluk Görgün, Director General of Security Ali Fidan, and TUSAŞ General Manager Mehmet Demiroğlu attended this important delivery ceremony.
Technological Competence and Future Plans
Presidency of Defense Industries President Haluk Görgün emphasized that the GÖKBEY Project has elevated Turkey's engineering, production, and procurement capabilities in rotary-wing technologies to a very advanced level.
While it was stated that this aircraft, which is the 8th GÖKBEY helicopter produced in total, is the security organization's first helicopter, it was expressed that the 2nd helicopter will also enter the inventory in a short time in accordance with the planned schedule.
A Total of 18 Helicopters for the Security Organization
Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi announced that a total of 18 T625 GÖKBEY helicopters will be received for the Security Organization and that the first helicopter is now ready for use.
In addition, Minister Çiftçi noted that 6 pilots and 4 helicopter technicians who will serve within the security department are continuing their GÖKBEY adaptation training at TUSAŞ facilities.
GÖKBEY Developments from Past to Present
TUSAŞ General Manager Mehmet Demiroğlu recalled that GÖKBEY made its first flight in September 2018 and the first delivery was made to the Gendarmerie Command in October 2024.
Following the speech of Demiroğlu, who stated that they are proud to deliver the first GÖKBEY helicopter to the General Directorate of Security, Minister Çiftçi inspected the new helicopter on site.
