Ho Chi Minh City Encourages Enterprises to Effectively Use Science and Technology Funds
At a conference held in Ho Chi Minh City, legal regulations and a published handbook aimed at facilitating enterprises' access to science and technology development funds were discussed.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology organized a conference to introduce new legal regulations and implementation guidelines to enable enterprises to more effectively use science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation funds.
New Regulations and Support Architecture
Nguyen Huu Yen, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology, stated that financial resources for research, development, and innovation play a critical role in turning enterprises' ideas into concrete projects.
Under Plan No. 98/KH-UBND issued by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the participation of business resources in the city in research and technology development activities is targeted.
Guidance Provided Through Processes and Handbook
At the conference, updated regulations regarding the establishment, allocation, and use of the fund pursuant to the 2025 Law on Science, Technology and Innovation were shared.
The Department published a guiding handbook on the establishment and use of science and technology development funds to support agencies and enterprises during the implementation process.
Challenges Faced by Enterprises Heard
Speaking at the event, business representatives expressed practical challenges encountered during the management and use of funds, as well as the need for clarification on tax and accounting matters.
Officials announced that feedback from enterprises would be evaluated to close the gaps between regulations and practice, and to shape future support steps.
