Information Security Training Program Launches for Women on Career Breaks
Led by Burganbank, the program aims to equip women who want to work in the field of cybersecurity with new skills.
To support women who have taken a break from their careers for various reasons in returning to professional life, the Information Security 360 program is being implemented under the leadership of Burganbank, in cooperation with the YenidenBiz Association and Işık University.
The Situation of Women Taking a Break from Working Life
In Turkey, there are approximately 22 million women who have taken a break from working life or remain outside the workforce due to structural barriers.
According to data from the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, one out of every two new mothers leaves her job within the first year after childbirth.
The Percentage of Women Who Want to Work
A study conducted by the YenidenBiz Association and Ipsos with 319 women who have taken a break reveals that 97 percent of women want to work again.
Objective and Scope of the Training Program
The Information Security 360 training program aims to help women who have taken career breaks gain up-to-date knowledge and skills in the field of cybersecurity.
The program is carried out through collaborations aimed at preparing participants for digital transformation.
What Are the Application Requirements
To apply for the program, candidates are required to have at least three years of work experience and have taken a break from working life for at least six months.
Participation is primarily targeted at women who have graduated from engineering departments or equivalent disciplines and aim for a career in cybersecurity.
Content of the Trainings Starting in October
The training sessions, starting in October, will run for 10 weeks and total 40 hours.
Participants will receive training on network, system, application, endpoint, and data security, as well as next-generation technologies such as artificial intelligence and quantum.
Certification and Expert Opinions
At the end of the program, which will be supported by case studies and practical work, participants will be included in a success certification process.
Burgan Bank Executive Vice President of Employee Experience Levent Ergin stated that the project will strengthen the representation of women in the technology sector.
